I don't know if that's really funny. Overtones of violence towards women, don't you think?
I know what you mean above by the "overtones" but I immediately took the original post to be referring to the song itself. If, for example, we replaced Sarah McLachlan with "Coldplay", does it necessarily imply violence toward the band members? Some songs or news articles or comments irk us, but it's just the message, not the messenger, that we wouldn't mind tearing up.
